The storms that hit the South on April 27th may turn out to be the worst tornado outbreak in U.S. history. There were a couple that touched down in our vicinity, but luckily nothing near anybody. We mainly had a lot of wind, rain and hail. It rained about 3 1/2 inches in about 5 hours with golf ball sized hail. When it started hailing we were putting the kids to bed, and all of the sudden it got really loud like the roof was being pelted hard. We took the kids and huddled in the downstairs bathroom just in case there was tornado. We have no basement, so they recommend getting in a closet or small bathroom on ground level.
When it was over Jason's car was all dented up with the windshield cracked all over. It's usually in the garage, but his spot was temporarily occupied. The outer pane on Nathaniel's window was broken, and the siding on the house was cracked and broken everywhere. Little pieces of plastic, leaves and branches littered the yard. We filed claims with our insurance companies to get the car and house repaired. That's our little story. From what we hear on the news, other people weren't so lucky.
